Rachel Amey

Rachel is a poet and spoken word performer who lives and works in Edinburgh. She has shared her work at many events from the early days of The Traverse Theatre’s Monday Lizard to recent online Zoom explorations for Campbell’s Ceilidh - including sets for the opening Lyceum Variety Night , Edinburgh Hogmanay’s Scot:Lands, Blue Metropolis Festival Montreal (in exchange with Edinburgh Book Festival), Stanza, Glasgow Merchant City Festival, Rally and Broad, Flint and Pitch, Leith Lates, Loud Poets and more. She was the winner of the inaugural slams for both the National Library of Scotland and Luminate Festival, as well as being a finalist for the Scottish Nationals and BBC Fringe slams. Rachel also qualified as a British Sign Language interpreter four years ago and is currently studying a MSc module on ‘Interpreting in Arts and Culture settings’ at Queen Margaret University.

Tawona Sithole

Tawona Sithole (better known as Ganyamatope, his ancestral family name) is a widely published poet, playwright, and short story author. His heritage inspires him to make connections with other people through creativity-based learning. A storyteller and musician, he is the co-founder of Seeds of Thought, a non-funded arts group. He is currently UNESCO artist-in-residence at the University of Glasgow, with research and teaching roles in the school of education and medical school. Other educational roles are with Glasgow School of Art, University of the West of Scotland, University of Stirling and Newcastle University, and the Scottish Book Trust.
